AIMC Health Tip - Why is Momentum Important for Your Health & Wellness?

Momentum matters in health and wellness because success isn't built on one big decision—it's built on small actions that keep moving you forward.

Check out our YouTube video here -

(13) AIMC Health Tip - Momentum Is The Key to Greath Health & Wellness - YouTube

Think of it this way:

  • Starting is hard. The first workout, the first healthy meal, or the first walk around the block takes the most effort.
  • Keeping going gets easier. Once you've built a routine, your healthy habits begin to feel natural instead of forced.
  • Stopping is costly. When momentum is lost, it's much harder to get moving again than it is to keep going.

Why Momentum Is So Powerful

🏃 Small Wins Become Big Results

  • One healthy meal leads to another.
  • One workout becomes a weekly routine.
  • One pound lost becomes ten.
  • Consistency always beats perfection.

🧠 Your Mind Changes
Momentum builds confidence.
Instead of saying:

"I hope I can do this."

You begin saying:

"This is who I am."

That identity shift is where lasting change happens.

❤️ Your Body Responds
As you stay consistent:

  • Energy increases.
  • Sleep improves.
  • Strength builds.
  • Inflammation often decreases.
  • Weight management becomes easier.
  • Healthy habits reinforce each other.

The benefits compound over time.

Momentum Creates a Ripple Effect

When you feel better physically:

  • You make better food choices.
  • You become more productive at work.
  • You have more patience with family.
  • You feel more motivated to exercise.
  • Your confidence grows.

One positive habit fuels another.

Don't Chase Perfection

Many people lose momentum because they think one bad day means they've failed.

It doesn't.

Missing one workout isn't failure.
Eating one unhealthy meal isn't failure.

The goal is simple:

Never miss twice.

Get back on track with the very next choice.

The Bottom Line

Health isn't won by what you do once.

It's won by what you do consistently.

Momentum is your greatest ally. Every healthy choice creates energy for the next one. Keep moving forward—even with small steps—and those steps will eventually lead to remarkable results.

Remember: Motivation gets you started. Momentum keeps you going. Consistency changes your life.

AIMC Health Tip - Why the Human Connection is the Best Health & Wellness Advice

If someone asked me what the best thing you could do for your health is, they'd probably expect me to say eat better, exercise more, get eight hours of sleep, or drink more water.

Those things absolutely matter.

But the older I get, the more I believe the greatest health advice isn't found in a gym, a pharmacy, or a supplement bottle.

It's found in other people.

I've met successful executives, entrepreneurs, athletes, and retirees. I've watched people go through incredible highs and heartbreaking lows. One thing has become crystal clear: the people who seem happiest and healthiest are rarely the ones with the perfect diet. They're the ones surrounded by meaningful relationships.

Think about the last time you had a great conversation with a friend. Or laughed so hard your stomach hurt. Or received an unexpected phone call from someone simply checking in to see how you were doing.

You probably walked away feeling lighter.

That's not just your imagination. Your body actually responds to human connection. Stress levels drop. Blood pressure improves. Your immune system gets a boost. Your brain becomes healthier. Even your heart benefits.

On the flip side, loneliness can quietly take a tremendous toll on our health. We live in a world where we're connected to thousands of people online, yet many of us have never felt more disconnected in real life.

That's why I've come to believe networking isn't just good for your career. Community isn't just good for your social life. They're good for your health.

Every networking event, every coffee meeting, every phone call with an old friend, every dinner with family is doing more than filling your calendar. It's filling something we all need as human beings: connection.

Maybe that's why I enjoy bringing people together so much. Whether it's through AMA Boston, Mass Professional Networking, AIMC Business Solutions, or simply introducing two people who can help each other, I've seen firsthand what happens when people genuinely connect. Opportunities are created. Friendships are formed. Stress melts away. People realize they're not alone.

Here is our video on YouTube -

AIMC Health Tip - Why the Human Connection is the Best Health & Wellness Advice - YouTube

So here's my challenge this week.

Instead of only tracking your calories or counting your steps, count your conversations.

Call someone you haven't spoken to in a while.

Invite someone to lunch.

Put your phone down during dinner.

Ask someone how they're really doing—and take the time to listen.

Because at the end of the day, the healthiest investment you can make isn't in another fitness gadget or wellness app.

It's in another human being.

Your body, your mind, and your heart will thank you for it.

AIMC Health Tip - Why Protein Matters More As You Get Older -

As we age, our bodies naturally lose muscle, strength, and energy. That’s why protein becomes more important after 40 — and critical after 50.

Protein helps: - Maintain muscle and strength - Support metabolism and energy - Improve recovery and healing - Strengthen bones and immunity - Reduce the risk of frailty and falls The challenge? Aging bodies don’t process protein as efficiently, meaning older adults often need more protein than they did when they were younger. Great protein sources include: - Eggs - Fish - Chicken - Greek yogurt - Beans - Lentils - Protein shakes - GoTrim - https://bit.ly/4dAUfDK - Tower+ - https://bit.ly/4tL7lEp - One of the best combinations for healthy aging is simple: Strength training + higher protein intake You don’t need intense workouts. Even walking, resistance bands, or light weights a few times a week can make a huge difference. Getting older is inevitable. Getting weaker doesn’t have to be.

AIMC Health Tip - What is Digestion and Why Is It Important?

AIMC Health Tip - What is Digestion and Why Is It Important?

We are heading into the holiday season when we will all be indulging in delicious food and treats. Of course, we need to treat ourselves once in a while especially if you live a healthy lifestyle. But at the same time, we should know how to take care of our bodies and digesting your food is essential for great health. So, what is digestion? Digestion is defined as the process of breaking down large, insoluble molecules of food into smaller, water-soluble molecules which can then be readily absorbed by the body. Digestion is one among many life processes observed in nearly all living organisms. What happens when food is not digested properly? When food is not digested properly, it can cause stomach discomfort like bloating and abdominal pain, lead to nutrient deficiencies and malabsorption, resulting in diarrhea or constipation, weight changes, nutritional imbalances, disrupt the gut microbiome, and affect overall health and immune function. 5 Ways to Speed Up Digestion Exercise for 30 minutes a day. Food and digested material is moved through the body by a series of muscle contractions. Eat more fiber. Eat yogurt. Eat less meat. Drink more water. Of course, there are natural effective supplements! Check out - Isotonix Digestive Enzymes -

AIMC Health Tip - The American Diet vs The European Diet. Why are Americans So Unhealthy?

When you compare how Americans eat versus Europeans, the differences are striking—and the health outcomes show it.

In the U.S., convenience often trumps nutrition. Processed foods, oversized portions, sugary drinks, and fast-food culture dominate daily diets. Add in a reliance on packaged meals and you get higher rates of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Meanwhile, much of Europe takes a different approach. Meals are smaller, slower, and fresher. Local produce, lean proteins, olive oil, and whole grains make up much of the diet—especially in Mediterranean regions. Food isn’t just fuel; it’s a social ritual, often shared with family and friends. The result? Europeans generally live longer, healthier lives with fewer chronic illnesses tied to diet. The lesson: Health isn’t just about access to food—it’s about the quality, culture, and habits around it. Until Americans rethink convenience and portion size, the health gap will remain wide. Your Nutrition Guide in Twenty-Five Statements

Here is a great guideline for you regarding nutrition in 25 statements!

1. The nutrient density of red meats and eggs is unmatched. Anyone telling you otherwise isn't interested in your health.

2. The best time to eat carbs is around workouts, and the best source is from whole foods like fruit and raw honey.

3. A relationship with a local farmer/rancher will do more for your health than your doctor.

4. Fruit juices are stripped of fiber, speeding up the absorption of sugar into the bloodstream. Your body can't tell the difference between juice and a can of Coke.

5. Processed foods cause massive blood sugar spikes, and like a drug addict, this requires more and more insulin leading to insulin resistance, inflammation, and eventually chronic disease.

6. The experts and government health agencies recommend 50 g of protein a day. This will keep you alive, but it isn't optimal living.

7. You have 2 brains, and the one in your gut does more for the one between your ears than you think.

8. Your ancestors didn't eat something new every night, yet you're surprised you feel like garbage without any nutritional routine.

9. If they want you to eat something and viciously attack the alternative, someone is making a lot of money from it. Always question motives.

10. If you eat bread, make it sourdough, as it helps feed the good bacteria in your gut.

11. Cooking at home is good for your family, your budget, and your health.

12. Eat a high-protein lunch, and you won't need the afternoon coffee that's killing your sleep.

13. Fruits and vegetables now carry significantly less minerals due to declining soil quality.

14. Poor soil quality results in a lack of magnesium in most diets, impacting sleep, recovery, and mental health, and they would benefit from supplementation.

15. A high protein diet slows digestion, which helps manage sugar levels, improves satiation (fullness), and burns up to an extra 25% of its calories through the thermic effect of food. Eat more protein.

16. Winter is coming, and your ability to get adequate vitamin D from the sun alone will be a challenge without supplementation.

17. Commit to 32oz water first thing in the morning and for the first hour of your day before taking that first sip of coffee.

18. Fermented foods and bone broth will do more for your gut health than a TUMS or another acid reflux medication that are simply bandaid solutions.

19. You assume you're always hungry when really you're chronically dehydrated and in an unconscious habitual eating pattern.

20. No matter the restaurant their priority is to stay in business and make a profit, so it's likely they'll serve you cheap carbs as the largest portion of your meal and cook in cheap oils. To take control of your health, eat at home.

21. Your gut needs to rest. Stop filling it up for 14-16 hours a day and then complaining you can't sleep. Try an 8-10 hour eating window cutting if off at least 2 hours before bed.

22. A low-protein breakfast and lunch are what is making you sluggish and tired in the afternoon.

23 What you're eating is making you stressed and because you're stressed you eat. Break the cycle.

24. You would feel 10x better by simply committing to whole foods for 1 week.

25. A calorie deficit without adequate protein will cause you to lose weight, but that weight loss will be in part to the loss of muscle, decreasing your overall metabolism. You need protein.

26. Longterm nutritional success is built on a sustainable system, not a diet.

AIMC Health Tip -Why Marketing So Called Perceived Healthy Products Is Bad For You

You see it all the time in your local supermarket - diet soda, low fat milk, lite salad dressing and protein added to my cereal and think you are a health nut buying the right foods. But you are not and there are many reasons why.

Marketing so-called “perceived healthy” products can be bad for you for three main reasons: 1. Misdirection Through “Healthwashing” Brands often focus on one healthy-sounding feature while downplaying—or completely hiding—less healthy aspects. Example: “Low fat” snacks that are loaded with added sugar. The marketing primes you to associate the product with wellness, so you don’t question the rest of the ingredients. 2. Psychological Halo Effect When something is labeled “organic,” “gluten-free,” or “natural,” many people automatically assume it’s healthy in all respects. This “health halo” can make you eat more of it, consume extra calories, or ignore nutritional balance. Ironically, you may end up worse off nutritionally than if you’d just eaten a regular version in moderation. 3. Erosion of Informed Choice Aggressive marketing can make it harder for consumers to tell what’s actually good for them. You’re more likely to buy based on branding, influencer endorsements, or packaging rather than reading labels. This can normalize highly processed, sugar-laden, or chemically engineered foods as “everyday healthy options.” Some examples of marketed food and drink that is not good for you is as follows:
  • Diet Soda - Diet soda isn’t a magic bullet for weight loss or health—it’s more like trading one set of problems (high sugar) for another (sweetener-related metabolic and appetite issues). Occasional consumption is unlikely to harm you, but daily use can stack up hidden risks over time.
  • Lite Salad Dressing - “Lite” salad dressings may cut fat and calories, but they often replace fat with sugar, salt, and processed additives. Without healthy fats, your body can’t absorb important fat-soluble vitamins from your vegetables, meaning you lose nutrition while eating more artificial ingredients. Plus, the “lite” label can lead to over-pouring, canceling out any calorie savings. In most cases, a small amount of regular dressing made with real healthy oils is far better for you than a big serving of lite dressing.
  • Protein Added to Cereal - Protein added to cereal can sound healthy, but it’s often from cheap, processed sources like soy protein isolate or whey powder, which can be hard to digest and stripped of other nutrients. To make it taste good, manufacturers usually add extra sugar, artificial flavors, or sweeteners, turning the cereal into a highly processed product.
Bottom line: The danger isn’t just in the product—it’s in the perception shift. When marketing convinces you that a less-than-healthy option is a health boost, you stop looking critically at what you’re consuming. Over time, that can lead to poor nutrition, weight gain, and even chronic health issues.
